We were on the Long Beach Peninsula over the 4th of July. I must say it was the most amazing spectacle I have ever witnessed and/or experienced. We watched fireworks for a couple of hours and decided it was time to go back to our rented cottage. As we were packing our folding chairs and other belongings an older couple sitting on the dune grass a little ways away asked why we weren't staying for the fireworks. I thought they were kidding, when suddenly the night skies filled with monstrous explosions and colors. Then began about a half hour to forty-five minutes of the town of Long Beach's public display. What a SHOW!!! After the applause and honking horns died down, the elderly couple explained all the previous firework displays before those by the City were personal and they would continue for hours. And they did! The next night we went to Ilwaco, perhaps three miles south from where were the night before and watched another great fireworks display. We loved it and plan to return many times in the future as it seems there are plenty of things to do, explore, discover and see, with many events planned all year long. We are especially looking forward to a visit this winter to experience firsthand the raw power of a thrashing winter storm. And of course we booked our little cottage in Long Beach, WA for a return next 4th of July even before we checked out...
We discovered this area while doing a search on the Net and found the website funbeach.com . I certainly recommend it and want to express my thanks to the group that puts it together and keeps it current. You do an amazing job. Thank You!
